Chinese smartphone makers Vivo and iQOO have opened the OriginOS 6 preview program for select Indian users starting today. The program allows owners of Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13 devices to experience the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 ahead of its public launch.
Vivo recently confirmed that the official OriginOS 6 launch event is scheduled for October 15, marking the introduction of the refreshed user interface for global users. The company highlighted that the new OS promises improved system fluidity, deeper customisation options, and enhanced AI-driven features.
Users interested in joining the preview program can register directly from their compatible devices. Selected participants will gain early access and are encouraged to provide feedback to help refine the system before its full release. Registration is limited, and users must update their smartphones to the latest software version prior to signing up.
How to Register for the OriginOS 6 Preview Program
1. Open Settings → System Update
2. Tap the three-dot menu on the top-right corner
3. Select Version Trial → Closed Beta Sign-Up
4. Tap View Details and complete the registration form
Eligible users will receive confirmation from Vivo if they are selected for the program.
Until now, OriginOS was exclusive to Chinese variants of Vivo and iQOO devices, while international models, including those in India, ran on FunTouch OS. FunTouch OS has faced criticism for limited customisation, inconsistent navigation, and basic animations. The introduction of OriginOS 6 in India represents a major shift, offering a more unified and refined software experience. It may also accelerate future updates across devices.
What to Expect from OriginOS 6
Based on Android 16, OriginOS 6 retains features from earlier versions while introducing new AI functionalities. These include:
* Blue Heart Little V Assistant: Drag-and-drop support for images and files, along with advanced voice interaction through Jovi Voice.
* Atomic Island: Productivity tool providing live activity updates and context-aware suggestions.
* AI Call Assistant: Real-time translations, automatic call summaries, and call handling capabilities.
Visually, the update promises smoother transitions, redesigned icons, revamped UI components, and expanded system-wide customisation options.
